Purpose. Before we explore the mind in detail, we need a map — a sense of the territory and the spirit in which to travel it. This module sets the foundation: how this body of knowledge sees the world, why comparison is how we learn, how body and mind relate, what the Buddhist canon actually is, and the single most important attitude to carry through everything that follows — test it yourself.

What you'll practice in this module

Quiet noticing of your own mind, learning through honest comparison, sensing the body–mind connection, and beginning a simple practice journal you'll use across the whole course.
