Purpose. Of everything you do in a day, the thing you do most — and most thoughtlessly — is talk. Speech is where the inner life meets the world most often, which makes it the most practical arena to apply everything so far. The tradition took this seriously enough to treat speech as its own discipline. This module looks at why words carry such weight, the five qualities that make speech worth saying, the four kinds of careless speech that quietly damage lives, and the craft of actually being understood.
What you'll practice in this module
Pausing before you speak, running your words through a simple five-part filter, catching the four common slips of careless speech in real time, and learning to speak (and stay silent) in a way that lands. A natural extension of the "wise speech" factor from Module 4.
