Purpose, and a clear frame. This module is different from the rest, and entirely optional. So far we've foregrounded what you can test in your own life. Here we look at the tradition's grand picture of the universe — its many realms, its vast cycles of time, the mind's journey across lifetimes. We present all of it explicitly as worldview and metaphor, never as competing science. You don't need to believe any of it to have gotten the full value of this course. We include it because it's part of the tradition's depth, because it's genuinely beautiful, and because — read inward, as the final lesson does — it turns out to be a startlingly useful map of the mind.

How to read this module

Hold it lightly. Where the tradition describes heavens, hells, and far worlds, read "a worldview — a picture some hold as faith," not "a physics paper." We will not claim ancient texts secretly contained modern cosmology, and we'll flag clearly where this is matter of faith. Take the part that illuminates your own mind; leave the rest with respect.
